the first one of a new series of ambient-videos is now online. i planned a video for each song of my forthcoming album, which will be released around may 2009. so consider this as a pre-release treat and enjoy the video here

well, yeah… the commentboxes are offline again. no one wanted to comment anyway (sniff), except for some fu#!ng spambots, which flooded me with like 20 comments a day. so if someone likes to tell me something, please use the mail-function under contact+links
from next month on there will be a history of specials for all of you who missed a special in the past. and i hopefully will present you my promised ambient album.

the new ambient album is still in progress… i have to admit that i was a bit lazy in december and in january i had to do a lot of work redecorating my studio. but with some new equipment (like the legendary YAMAHA NS-10 speaker system for near-field monitoring) and a sparkling refurbished studio i will soon be back to work.

there are two new photo-series online. nightshots is a best of… my favourite long-exposure photos so far. nightmare before christmas is a delightful series of icy macro shots, i also took at night when the windows of my car where all covered with iceflowers. the mood in this series pretty much reminds me of the eponymous film by tim burton.

well, the comment-box is online too - from now on you can leave comments on every music-album, which i would appreciate very much of course…
some time ago i assembled a best-of-collection of my early ambient works, which i slightly remastered today. now you can listen to the sound i made up to 12 years ago (aah, those were the days). if you notice some background noise, don´t be alarmed: there is nothing wrong with your hifi… most of these recordings were taken on my trusty 4-track-tape-recorder. but be warned: it is really very experimental stuff, uneasy for the untrained ear, but i still like it.

my website is online!!! of course it is online, or else you couldn´t read this… but i´m so excited, i just have to shout it out! i will do a bit more fine-tuning the next days, but you can already listen, download and watch.
kudos to my friend wootan at studio7media for editing wordpress. i really love to work with you, man!
i´m thinking about a “today´s special” for the future - by that i mean temporarily offering pre-releases or something of my unreleased music on the frontpage, or something like that. and of course there will always be new photo-series, music and videos.
there will also be a comment box of some sort, so you can tell me wether you like what you see or not. so come back frequently and check out my specials and news.

today i made a new ambient video. this time i merged the last song of “ambient I” with my photo-series “dancers in the dark” and “autumn tales“. it has become a nice, calming piece, that of course fits perfectly to this time of year.

my new album “mel wan” is out now! i almost think of it as a part 2 of my last one “cypher“, they are very similar in mood and style. the next weeks i will have to concentrate on some other things. but as soon as i have time to make music again, i bet it´s gonna be the second part of my ambient-series. winterstyle!
